Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has gone back on comments he made about representing the Great Britain football team at next year's Olympics.
Team GB has sparked plenty of criticism from the home nations as it is likely to be a largely English contingent making up the squad with perhaps a sprinkling of Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish players.
Wales captain Ramsey had previously stated that he would 'go ahead and do it' if given the chance to play for Great Britain but today backtracked by posting the following on Twitter: "Relax everyone, there is absolutely no way I would play in the Olympic team if it was going to affect Wales' identity as an individual nation!" The three aforementioned nations are mainly opposed to the team playing as a combined unit as the debate rages on about who should and should not play in Stuart Pearce's team at the London 2012 Games.
