Arsenal ace Ozil not listening to press criticism

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil insists he is not worried about negative talk directed at him from certain sections of the media.

The German playmaker, who joined from Real Madrid for £42million in the summer, has attracted criticism for his recent performances for the Gunners after a blistering start in north London.

Since he joined Arsenal, Ozil has scored five goals and produced 11 assists in 33 outings but has failed to have an impact on games in recent weeks.

However, he says he is not listening to any negative talk as it is likely to change very quickly as is the nature of the beast in the UK.

"I don't care. They wrote something different three weeks ago and they will do it again in another three weeks. That's part of the business in England," he told Sport Bild.

"Almost every new player needs time to adjust in the Premier League. That's also what Jens Lehmann said recently. The challenges here are completely different.

"It was obvious that I would fall into a sort of limbo because I missed the whole pre-season. There were also times where I was not satisfied with my performances but I overcame this now."

Ozil is currently in his homeland representing Germany in an international friendly against Chile in Stuttgart which die Mannschaft won 1-0 thanks to Mario Gotze's first-half goal.
