Davy Arnaud has been named the captain of MLS expansion franchise Montreal Impact.
The 31-year old midfielder will take the captain's armband for the club's inaugural MLS season after joining from Sporting Kansas City late last year.
Impact head coach Jesse Marsch was delighted to appoint Arnaud as skipper whilst the player himself was looking forward to taking more responsibility that comes with the role.
Arnaud added: "It's a big honour. I am excited about the opportunity and look forward to the challenges that remain ahead. You have to be a voice on and off the field as a veteran player, whether you are captain or not, and be a good example and set a standard in training every day.""Davy has a competitive nature and leadership qualities that largely embody what we want to be on and off the field," said Marsch. "During the training camp, he has played a vital role in developing our group mentality and will to win."
