Greek Super League club Aris Thessaloniki FC are attempting to cancel the contract of Freddy Adu.
The 21-year old USA attacker has failed to play a game with Aris this season and is out of manager Hector Cuper's plans and the club want to terminate his current deal according to the club's media officer Christanthos Tsaltidis.
"We want to cancel the rest of his contract with the Greek federation," he told MLSsoccer.com. "We are in the courts with Freddy."
Adu has recently been training with Danish club Randers FC but boss Jakob Nielsen confirmed that it was simply a favour to the player's agent.
"He's not here on trial," Nielsen told MLSsoccer.com. "He's just here to keep his form and fitness level. He's here because of our chief scout's relation with his agent."
