Argentina manager Gerard Martino believes Angel Di Maria is in the world's top five footballers.
The 26-year old winger, who joined Manchester United from Real Madrid earlier this summer, proved why he cost £59.7million with a sublime performance in Argentina's 4-2 friendly win over Germany in Dusseldorf on Wednesday night.
Di Maria produced three assists and also scored as the South Americans exacted revenge for their World Cup final loss to the Europeans in July and his performance prompted praise from new boss Martino.
"Angel Di Maria has demonstrated why he is one of the five best players in the world," he told reporters.
Di Maria set up goals for Sergio Aguero, Erik Lamela and Federico Fernandez before netting himself as Argentina fired four past the Germans prior to Andre Schurrle and Mario Gotze scoring for the world champions.
