LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena feels that Omar Gonzalez has what it takes to become a regular fixture in the USA national team.
The 24-year old centre-back, who has been capped three times, has been selected for Wednesday's 2014 World Cup qualifier against Honduras in San Pedro Sula and Arena believes he can forge his way as a key player for the US in the future after taking a while to be recognised.
"It'll be a good opportunity for him," said Arena.
"It's a little late. I think he should have been in that mix much earlier. I'm hopeful he can get some quick experience and eventually be a fixture for the team."
