Ossie Ardiles has urged fellow Argie Carlos Tevez to stay with Manchester City.
Tevez continues to be linked with a move away ahead of the summer market.
"There is a lot of talk all the time that Carlos is unsettled and wants to go but he is performing tremendously well," Ardiles, who swapped Argentina for England when he joined Tottenham in 1978, told the Manchester Evening News.
"Manchester City can select from some of the best players in the world but by far he is their most important player.
"He is having a wonderful, wonderful season and he will be challenging for honours and for player of the year awards, so what else does he want?
"Outside football, it might be a little bit more difficult for him because of the language and the different way of life in Buenos Aires. But it looks to me right now that because he is doing so well he will be okay."
