Alberto Aquilani will return to Liverpool after a proposed permanent deal with Juventus fell through.
The 26-year old midfielder spent last season on loan with the Old Lady and there were increasing reports that he was set to sign a deal in Turin.
But Tuttomercatoweb.com suggests that Juventus will not use their option to make the permanent purchase of £14million.
The Bianconeri wanted a discount for Aquilani with the Reds dropping it to below £9m but they could still not agree a fee and a return to Anfield is the likely outcome.
