ChampionshipPortsmouth have revealed they have received over 50 applications for the manager's job following Steve Cotterill's departure to Nottingham Forest. "Getting the right man is more important for us than getting someone in quickly," chief executive David Lampitt told The News.
"We have a good, credible and testing process to get what we want.
"It's the number one priority. It's not that we want to take more time than is necessary but we want to get it right."
Former Bournemouth and Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll is the current favourite to land the job.
