Apologetic Odemwingie has West Brom reservations after red card

Peter Odemwingie admits he fears for his place in the West Bromwich Albion line-up following the weekend's sending off.

The Nigerian striker was shown a straight red card for his reckless hack on Fulham's Sascha Riether in the first half of his side's 3-0 defeat at Craven Cottage and now suggests he could fall down manager Steve Clarke's pecking order.

"We have a lot of good players on the bench and players that didn't even make the squad on Saturday and are very good," Odemwingie told Express & Star.

"I will work hard over the next couple of weeks to make sure I don't lose my position but it is a worry that I might not get my starting shirt back.

"I feel like I've let myself down. It really feels very bad. I also let my team-mates, the club and fans down. I'm sorry."
