Anzhi Makhachkala are launching a bid for Lazio defender Modibo Diakite.

Diakite is off contract in June and could move to Anzhi with the Russian transfer window open for the remainder of this month.

His agent has already revealed this week that he has turned down the chance to join 'a Russian club' this year.
