Caribbean club Antigua Barracuda have stepped down from the USL Pro league due to financial issues.
The St John's club, who hail from Antigua & Barbuda, have gone on an indefinite hiatus and will not figure in the 2014 USL Pro season.
Chairman Gordon Derrick told the Antigua Observer that financial constraints, which constant travel contributes to, has forced the decision.
"With the economics we have, we couldn't find a way to make it work financially and we can't always go to the Government and ask the Government to help us to fund this even though it's beneficial from a tourism point of view," he said.
"You need the help, yes, but you also have to develop it into a viable business function going forward. With all the different dynamics that have changed since the first time (when founded in 2010), we haven't been able to find a model that makes sense."
