Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe was a victim of a Twitter gaffe following his side's last-minute defeat to West Ham United on the weekend.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Black Cats on transfer deadline day, has featured for only 13 minutes for David Moyes' side this season but didn't do himself any favours on Saturday.

Anichebe, or perhaps his social media guy, massively failed in a simple copy-and-post job and forgot to remove a line of instruction from the tweet.

The initial Tweet, before deleted, read: "Can you tweet something like: 'Unbelievable support yesterday and great effort by the lads! Hard result to take! But we go again!"
