Victor Anichebe was delighted with his goal in Everton's draw at Aston Villa.
After his New Year's Day winner at West Bromwich Albion, the striker, still making his way back to full fitness after a serious groin injury, stepped off the substitutes' bench to good effect at Aston Villa on Saturday, bagging the Blues' equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Alex McLeish's men.
"It was nice to get a goal," Anichebe told evertonfc.com. "I want to play but the manager's trying to look after me after I've been out for so long. Hopefully we can kick on again after the defeat in midweek to Tottenham Hotspur.
"It wasn't really fair that we went 1-0 down, but we fought back and got a result. This is a big positive. We don't give up, we fight to the end. When we scored we carried on trying to get another goal, we were defensively solid and hopefully in the next game we can kick on. We should be higher up the league but we're coming together as a team."
