Costa Rican import Marvin Angulo is set to make his debut for Melbourne Victory after having his international clearance approved.
The 23-year old attacking midfielder was originally signed as an injury replacement player for Billy Celeski in September last year, but was denied an International Transfer Certificate by FIFA's Player Status Committee on the basis that he was contracted to Costa Rican side Club Sport Herediano at the time of the application and the pending loan agreement fell outside of the Hyundai A-League transfer window.
Last night, Angulo's ITC was approved meaning he is set to make his debut for Melbourne Victory when it faces Newcastle Jets at EnergyAustralia Stadium this Sunday.
The Costa Rica international will now get the opportunity to play with his compatriot Carlos Hernandez at club level.
