Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is demanding they bring forward plans to sign Palmeiras defender Yerry Mina.

Barca have an option for Mina, though there has been reports of the Catalans allowing the clause to expire.

Don Balon reports, however, Valverde is now demanding Mina be signed in January. Gerard Pique's suspension for next week's clash with Valencia has exposed how thin his defensive options are.

The coach went straight to sports director Pep Segura after victory over Leganes to point out his squad is short after being ignored over the summer when asking for Aymeric Laporte to be signed from Athletic Bilbao.

He is now demanding Barca sign Mina in January as they go for the LaLiga and Champions League in the second-half of the season.
