Real Madrid have secured Angel di Maria to a new deal through to 2018.

The Argentina winger now boasts the longest contract in the senior Real squad.

Marca says the agreement was struck a month ago, but has only now been made public.

Di Maria signed for Real on a €2 million-a-year deal from Benfica, agreeing to the low salary after his former club had demanded €25 million to sell him.

The new contract is understood to be worth around €3 million-a-year, which puts him among the club's higher earners.
