Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka would love to see Roman Abramovich buy Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

After starring in last night's Champions League win at Spartak Moscow, Anelka was asked about the prospect of Chelsea landing Rooney.

He told BBC Sport: "He's a good player and everyone knows his quality. If he wants to come to Chelsea I would welcome him.

"Of course I would buy him, but I'm not the chairman (laughs)!"
