Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka is furious that he won't be offered a new contract this season. The Daily Star says the Blues cancelled two meetings with last season's Premier League top scorer - the second one around 15 minutes before it was due to take place.
Since then, Anelka's representatives have been told the club have a policy of not offering players over 30 a new deal until they are in the final year of their contracts.
Anelka, who joined from Bolton for £15m in January of last year, has the remainder of this season and next left on his deal. The apparent U-turn has upset Anelka, 30 last March, who picked up the Golden Boot as the League's top-scorer with 19 goals last season.
And his treatment has left him particularly disappointed because he shunned the opportunity of having operations on his hip and groin this summer in order to impress new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
