Andre Gomes has explained choosing Barcelona over Real Madrid.

The Valencia midfielder joined Barca this week.

“It's a personal issue. Everyone is different," he said.

"The club which was best for me was Barcelona. It doesn't matter about any others. It was Barça, full stop. It has to do with my philosophy and club's philosophy."

Gomes added: “I've spoken with Luis Enrique. He's told me to work hard and that he's excited to begin [the new season]."
