Sacha Kljestan made his first start under Juergen Klinsmann for the USA national team in their international friendly against Belgium on Wednesday night.
Prior to the Cleveland clash, the 27-year old Anderlecht midfielder explained how the match would mean so much more to him than any other US player because of his ties with Belgian football as a two-time Pro League title winner.
"It's special for me because I play against a lot of these guys week in and week out," Kljestan said.
"I've watched the Belgian team and followed them very closely."
He added: "Normal soccer fans in the States don't know, but in my opinion, Belgium is one of the best teams in the world right now."
