Anderlecht ready to push through deal for Arsenal striker Park

RSC Anderlecht has taken an interest in disgruntled Arsenal forward Park Chu-young.

According to the Korea Times, the Belgian side are reportedly hoping to attain Park in the summer transfer window.

The Korean international has been relegated mostly to the bench since his transfer to Arsenal last August.

Park was relegated to the reserve squad by Arsene Wenger, along with unproductive forwards Marouane Chamakh and Andrey Arshavin last month, fueling speculation of a transfer.

Park also was embroiled in a scandal at home this week for further postponing his mandatory military service by ten years. Korean athletes can only become exempt from serving in the military by winning a medal in the Olympics or the Asian Games, something he has yet to achieve.

Park had previously said he would return to Korea in 2015 to serve in the National Police Agency and play in the domestic K League.
