Anderlecht linked with Hibernian's Moroccan striker

The Moroccan has struggled to make an impression in the Easter Road first team more recently, making just 18 appearances and scoring one goal last season.

However the 23-year-old has burst onto the international scene in recent months and netted his second goal in two World Cup qualifiers for his country at the weekend.

Benjelloun missed the end of the SPL season with a groin strain but recovered in time to score the opener in last week's 3-0 win over Ethiopia and Saturday's 4-1 victory against Mauritania.

The striker's rise to prominence at international level has sparked reports in his home country claiming that his performances have caught the attention of Anderlecht boss Ariel Jacobs. And it is believed that Jacobs had scouts at Easter Road on several occasions last season.
