Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera will be handed a first start for the season tonight at Club Brugge.

The Mirror says with United leading 3-1 from the first leg of the Champions League qualifier and in a commanding position to advance to the group stage, boss Louis van Gaal will use tonight's game to utilise his squad, with Herrera expected to start, according to sources.

As well as Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, whose late goal in the first leg has put United in pole position to advance at the expense of Brugge, is also set for his first start of the campaign.

If United progress tonight, they will return to the Champions League after last season's absence and go into tomorrow's draw in Monaco in pot two.
