Real Madrid are joining the battle for Corinthians midfielder Paulinho.

Marca says the signing of Paulinho has been personally requested by incoming coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Paulinho's agents are in London this week for talks with Tottenham, but Ancelotti is pushing Real to intercept the negotiations.

The Italian is convinced Paulinho's versatility is what Real has been missing.
