Real Madrid earned a difficult 2-1 win over Sevilla last night.
Goals from James Rodriguez and his replacement Jese Rodriguez put the home side in the driving seat at the interval as Carlo Ancelotti's men went in search of a fifth successive league win.
A late reply from Iago Aspas set up a nervy finish at the Bernabeu but Madrid held on for the points which gives them breathing space over nearest and fierce rivals Barcelona.
"I liked the way the team played the entire match. We had good chances and it was to be expected that we would find things difficult at the end because they are taller, for dead ball situations. We deserved to win and everything went well," said Ancelotti.
