New Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti believes his days as a hard-nosed midfielder in Europe will make the players respect him.
The former AC Milan boss had a successful playing career with Parma, Roma and Milan from the mid-1970s until the early 1990s and hopes that his halcyon days are not unnoticed by Blues players.
"As a player I was not always quiet," said the Italian.
"On the field I was a fighter and I didn't want the opponent to come into my territory. Now for me it is about the players having respect for my position as the coach.
"I have to make the decisions and at the same time I have respect for the players. This is my system to bring forward a relationship."
