Ancelotti insists AC Milan want to hang onto Ronaldinho

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti insists Ronaldinho has a place in his plans for next season.

Ronie came off the bench to score in yesterday's scrappy 2-0 victory over Lecce and Ancelotti said: "He did very well in the first half of the campaign and gave an important contribution to the team, then this heel injury kept him out for a month and he lost his form.

"I can guarantee is he much better than before he went on international duty and will soon get back to his best. We are focusing on him for next season too, as he is young and can take even more hold of this squad."

The Rossoneri were struggling badly before two stoppage-time headers finally pushed Lecce aside.

"We were too slow in the first half and created very little, whereas we had more heart and soul in the second. Ronaldinho had more space down the left and that is his natural position."
