Frank Rijkaard is emerging as favourite for Carlo Ancelotti's AC Milan job. Despite the result of yesterday's crisis talks being that Ancelotti remains in charge, Leggo says Rijkaard is the No1 candidate for the post should the Rossoneri fail in their upcoming games against FC Zurich and Lazio.

It's been revealed that directors Leonardo and Ariedo Braida were part of the meeting in the afternoon and urged vice-president Adriano Galliani to stick with Ancelotti. There was a lot of finger pointing over the lack of a defensive signing made in the summer, with Barcelona's Eric Abidal regarded as the prime failure.
