Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti was furious with his team despite grabbing three points in their Champions League group stage match against Cypriot outfit Apoel Nicosia.
An 18th minute Nicolas Anelka goal separated the sides but Ancelotti was less than impressed by the second poor performance in a row by his Blues, admitting his team did not deserve to win
"I wanted Chelsea to play better and to take more control, to play with courage. We have to change, for sure," said the Italian.
"In the first half we showed good application of the system and of the defensive duties I was looking for. We took good control in defensive positions.
"But the second half was totally different. We lost a lot of balls. We allowed Nicosia to get back into the game. They deserved to get a draw.
"We made a lot of mistakes and we have to play better," he added.
"I have a lot of faith in this team and these players. I was a player for a lot of years myself, and I know that things don't always go well. I'm not afraid but I'd like Chelsea to play better than we did."
The win keeps Chelsea on top of the Group D table by three points after their narrow opening match win over FC Porto.
