Ancelotti feels draw would have been good result for Chelsea

Carlo Ancelotti admits his side probably shouldn't have won on Sunday but believes that losing was a bit harsh on his players.

The Blues were beaten by a second-half Raul Meireles goal as Liverpool came to town to spoil the party of Fernando Torres' Chelsea debut.

But Ancelotti feels that a draw should have been the result as neither side really deserved all three points.

"We played a fantastic game with this shape at Sunderland and wanted to reproduce that but Liverpool were strong defensively, put strong pressure on in their half, and we were not able to find the solution," he said.

"The right result would have been a draw, but this is football."

Ancelotti added that he will continue to play with three up strikers up front as he tries to fit Torres in with Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.

"The problem was not putting these players together. These players have a lot of quality and I will try everything to put them together," he added.

"Obviously we could play better as a team, not just in front.

"When you don't play quickly from the back, you have difficulty playing well up front."
