Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful of bringing Ramires to Stamford Bridge, but insists much has yet to be done to conclude a deal. Brazil international Ramires has been strongly linked with a move away from current club Benfica this summer, with Chelsea a favourite destination for the 23 year old.
The Premier League champions are reportedly looking to complete the deal before the end of the week as Ramires undergoes a medical, and are understood to be willing to pay around £17million for the midfield ace.
"I will speak about Ramires when Ramires will be a Chelsea player," Ancelotti told Sky Sports News.
"Until now, he is not a Chelsea player. We hope, but until now nothing is decided."
When asked whether Ramires could sign with the Blues before the weekend, Ancelotti again refused to be drawn, adding: "I don't know."
A complication is the fact that Ramires is part-owned by a businessman and the Blues would have to comply with Premier League regulations, which outlaw third-party ownership of players.
