Chelsea must win the Champions League for Didier Drogba to be awarded the Ballon d'Or, says manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Drogba was this week among the nominees for the Ballon d'Or for the sixth consecutive year, but he is yet to get anywhere near the top prize.
Ancelotti, who twice won the Champions League with AC Milan, reckons that Drogba will not win the prize this year as Chelsea failed to make the final last term after crashing out in the second round to winners Inter Milan.
"Whoever wins the Ballon D'Or depends on the team the player plays for," Ancelotti said. "If you are not in the final of the Champions League it is very difficult to win it.
"Drogba won't win it this season. If we win the Champions League this season we'll have players able to win it. This time it will go to an Inter player."
