AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti insists they're right in exploring whether a deal can be extended for on-loan LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham.
"I do not want to force him into any direction. I will just say that despite the brief time spent here, he has already understood what it's like to be at Milan and what we all think of him," said the Coach.
"Obviously if he were to stay, then we would all be happy, but he has a contract and only he can decide what he wants to do."
LA Galaxy boss Bruce Arena lambasted Milan for trying to push Beckham into extending his loan spell past the agreed date, but Ancelotti had a firm response.
"Arena is talking rubbish. There is no new deal with David and the current contract holds him at Milan until March 9.
"After that the decision is up to him, so neither I nor the club want to get into this. Milan are a very professional club."
