Amr Zaki: Wigan not playing me to drive my price down

Amr Zaki says Wigan Athletic aren't playing him regularly as a tactic to drop his asking price from parent club El Zamalek.

The striker told EgyptianPlayers.com : "Wigan asked Zamalek to sign me permanently and they (Zamalek) are asking for too much according to the Wigan management. They (Wigan board) want to sign me for much less and this can be done by putting me on the bench, therefore giving me less playing time which will result in a reduction in my goals and so, they can get me for cheap!

"Steve Bruce is the only man who has the right to choose who will start and who will not."

When asked if such treatment from Wigan would lead him to joining another club, Zaki said: "While I am not happy with this treatment, I still want to stay at Wigan. If I will play from the start, I will score goals as I did before. But each time I get a few minutes per match, I don't get enough time and this is the main reason beyond the lack of goals."
