Amiens president concedes fluffing deal for Man City striker Larry Kayode

Manchester City striker Larry Kayode remains at Girona after a move to Amiens fell through on deadline day.

RMC reports Kayode was denied a deadline day move to Amiens after the president of the French side filed the transfer documentation one minute after the deadline had passed.

Bernard Joannin had initially blamed a 'computing problem' for the debacle and despite making an appeal to the authorities the move was rejected.

Amiens were desperate to add a striker in January and decided to make a move for Kayode, who had been enduring a goalless loan-spell at Girona.

Joannin has taken responsibility for leaving the deal so late in the window.

“A 11pm, we'd finally reached a financial agreement with Manchester City, but the papers weren't filled out the same way by Girona," he told Courrier Picard.

"Everything was recorded at 11.59pm, but FIFA received it at 12.01am.

“[Negotiations] are very complicated, except when your chequebook is out and you pay without talking. This was another discovery. We really learnt a lot, even if I ended the transfer window disappointed."
