American soccer giant Kraft wants Premiership club

American billionaire Robert Kraft admits he wants to buy into the Premiership.

Kraft, who founded the expansion of MLS side New England Revolution, met with Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry back in 2005.

The 66-year-old business refused to confirm which clubs were of interest, although he hinted a London-based club could be high on wanted list.

"We looked seriously at Liverpool," he told Sky Sports News.

"We do still have an interest in playing in the Premier League.

"It's a wonderful and global game. I love the passion of the football fans here in the United Kingdom.

"People in the United Kingdom and London especially are really avid sports fans.

"We'd like to close our deal and then talk about it. It's still something we have an avid interest in."
