Former USA international Eric Wynalda has expressed interest in the coaching job at Chicago Fire. According to the Chicago Tribune, the 40-year old is keen to return to the club where he served as a player for just one season in 2001 although it is unsure whether or not the club is keen.
The Fire parted ways with coach Denis Hamlett at the end of the 2009 season and are on the search for a replacement but would want somebody who has enough coaching experience and would be able to develop players efficiently.
Wynalda is known for his brash personality which may conflict with trying to coach the Fire players, especially after Hamlett had a run-in with some of his squad during the season.
