Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill was delighted to hand American fullback Eric Lichaj his chance in yesterday's defeat to Malaga.

He told AVTV: "This environment is good for the younger players. Eric Lichaj played with the senior players for the first time, which would have been an experience for him.

"Marc Albrighton played most of the game too so it would have benefitted him too."
