American investment bank Fortress Investment Group are believed to be behind a sensational takeover of Rangers FC.
The New York-organisation, currently with assets of £27billion, are believed to have held talks with club administrators Duff & Phelps to express their interest according to SunSport.
Fortress began in 1998 before going public in 2007 and is a 'turnaround' specialist which is capable of restoring the Glasgow giants to their former off-field strength.
The US firm will go up against ex-Ibrox director Paul Murray and his Blue Knights consortium whilst a group from Singapore are also believed to be interested.
