Portsmouth are the latest Premiership club to attract American takeover interest.

The Sunday Mirror says consortiums with major links to the MLS are weighing up an approach to owner Alexandre Gaydamak.

But talk of an imminent takeover is unlikely with the Russian businessman adamant he has no wish to sell now or in the immediate future.

His initial investment was £20million, but success on the field and plans for a new stadium afoot has seen the club's value increase to £60m.
