Shola Ameobi has no idea where he stands at relegated Newcastle United.

The Evening Chronicle says with neither he nor his agent, Steve Denos, being informed that he is surplus to requirements at Newcastle, Ameobi will report back for pre-season training with United on Wednesday.

Asked about the now-infamous First Artists hitlist, Denos said: "It's been mentioned to me, but I've not seen it. I've not discussed it with Shola, and, to be perfectly honest, I don't know what's happening at Newcastle."
