Shola Ameobi admits it's crucial for Newcastle United's survival chances that they hold onto goalkeeper Shay Given.

Given has been linked with Tottenham and after Toon's 0-0 draw at Chelsea, Ameobi told BBC Radio Newcastle: "Shay is world-class, there's no doubt about it.

"He proves his worth week-in, week-out and he's done it again. We're delighted that he is here."
