Shola Ameobi was delighted for his Newcastle United teammates after their Carling Cup win at Chelsea.
Ameobi was outstanding in the surprise victory.
He said: "For the players who haven't been playing a lot like myself and are trying to get back into that first team the Chelsea game was a chance to show what we can and I think we managed to do that.
"The boys have been doing fantastically this season and produced another great performance against Everton at the weekend and all I can do is when I am given that opportunity is to score goals, play well and do well for the team."
