Ambrose: These Palace kids best I have seen

Darren Ambrose admits the current batch of Crystal Palace kids are the best he's seen.

Victory over Brighton was based on the midfield trio of academy graduates Wilfried Zaha, Sean Scannell and Jonathan Williams, who have a combined age of just 56.

"They are fantastic talents," said Ambrose, 27. "I see them every day and they are very special. Sean Scannell has just turned 21, while Wilfried was excellent and Jonny Williams, who was making his first League start, put in a fantastic performance - they all did.

"Then we have others such as Nathaniel Clyne, who is only 20, to come back in. It's a fantastic group of young lads and with the experienced heads we have around them we can go far.

"Last season we could have crumbled after that early goal and gone two or three behind. But the spirit is very high and we are really pleased. I thought that 3-1 was about right.

"We knew what this game meant [to the fans], so to go a goal down early was frustrating. But it's brilliant we fought back and not just because it's Brighton but because it's an away win and we didn't get many of them last season."
