Ambitious Moyes targets Champions League trophy for Man Utd

Despite being in the middle of a poor run of performances, David Moyes is targeting Champions League glory for Manchester United.

The reigning Premier League champions stuttered and scraped to a 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night to finish top of Group A in Europe's top club competition and now the under-pressure boss is hoping to kick on in the knockout stages.

"I think a club like Manchester United has to try and win the trophy," he told ITV1 after the victory.

"That's the job and the teams in the cup are very good. We need to get better as it's a tough competition. Let's take it as it comes and see how we get on."

United now await Monday's draw to learn who their opponent in the Round of 16 will be.
