Fiorenzo Peloso has made an astonishing claim against Juventus legend Michel Platini.
Peloso organised the Juventus trip to Heysel 30 years ago.
On Friday, it was the 30th anniversary of the tragedy in Brussels, when a wall collapsed in the Heysel Stadium ahead of the European Cup Final against Liverpool.
"In that trip I was accompanying the Juventus squad, directors and journalists," Peloso told L'Eco di Bergamo newspaper.
"I organised the journey. We left from Geneva with an Air France Caravelle. On the tragic day after that, I saw the worst representation of human nature that had lost its humanity around a sport that had nothing sporting left in it.
"Now 30 years on, I cannot forget the incredible sum of pettiness that I witnessed and can finally now reveal some of the details.
"The 'pearl' was a phrase said to me under his breath by Platini at the airport: 'More people are killed on the roads, why make such a fuss?'"
