Amauri: Palermo players showed their character

Palermo striker Amauri insists they can be proud to come away from Genoa with a 3-3 draw yesterday.

The Brazilian said: "We showed once again to have great character. Some people say the opposite but it is not true. Genoa is a good team and have a stadium of fans that encourages them to the end.

"We suffered but in the end we managed to bring home the equalizer."

Meanwhile, Genoa coach Gianpiero Gasperini admitted Palermo's away fans helped them: "The excessive protests from the Palermo fans against their team caused a lot of tension.

"We certainly played a great game and I think Palermo will be happier with the point than us."
