Amadeo Salvo has resigned as Valencia president.

Salvo announced he is leaving Valencia yesterday.

"The time has come. I wanted to make it public out of respect for the club and the fans, which are above and beyond anything else. I told Layhoon Chan last month that I wanted to leave the club on 30th June once the season was over," he said at a press conference.

"Things are complicated right now for my family. My father has cancer and that's tough. I told them I was unable to offer my heart and soul to Valencia as I had until now and they let me go. It makes no sense to prolong my commitment when I know full well that I can't see it through."
