Sone Aluko is keen to agree a new deal with Hull City.
The 24-year old midfielder has been starring for the Tigers in the Premier League this season and is eager to sign on for longer even though his current contract has another 12 months to run.
"We have just started talking. The focus is on games and getting fit again. I am sure it will get done," he said.
"No doubt it will drag on, as negotiations do, but I am relaxed about it. It's football so nothing would surprise you but I am sure it will get done.
"I am enjoying my football, I love the team and the stage we're on. It is more than a dream to play on this stage and I just want to be fit and enjoy the games.
"Apart from Chelsea, who gave us a lesson, so far so good and let's hope it continues. I didn't enjoy Chelsea because we're better than we showed.
"We have a good team and good players and we have shown that so far and seven points is a fair reflection of how we are playing."
